By clicking the button with the question mark, you get an audio overview of what the section contains. By clicking on the bar you initiate the quicktime movie which provides a tutorial on the subject of the section. The bottom toolbar contains various capabilities:
-Notes:
Clicking here will take you to a notepad that allows you to keep track of what you’re doing and make notes on what you’ve seen.
-The next series of buttons on the toolbar take you to the various sections of Using the Internet for Profit.
-Audio On
By clicking on this button you can suppress the audio. By clicking on it again, the auto comes back on .
-Main
This takes you back to the main menu of UIP.
Sections -Movies
Two tool and navigation bars are evident. One is contained within the quick time movie itself and the second is a toolbar contained below the movie.
Quicktime Movie Bar
The user can move the cursor to various positions on this bar and control the playing of the movie. A pause button on the far left will stop the movie. The controller itself can be dragged forward or backward in order to repeat parts of the movie, or to jump ahead or back if you want to skip or repeat certain sections. The buttons on the far right allow for going forward and backward
Toolbar Below the Movie
This bar gives you the capability to Pause the movie, Return to the section screen, turn audio on or off, go to the notepad, or Return to the main screen.
Notes
Once in the Notepad, you can type as you would in a word processing environment. Once finished you can Print, Save to a default file, Save As a particular file name and format type, or Clear to erase what’s on the Notepad. Each time you go into the Notepad, the information that was there previously will be retained unless you have cleared it. Each time you Save the Notepad previous versions will be over-written unless you give it a different name. The command bar at the bottom of the Notepad also contains capabilities to Return to the section you are in or to go back to the Main menu. Audio On/off capabilities are also present.
Feedback
In filling in this form the tab key will take you from field to field. Once completed, Print the form. Printed instructions on mailing address and fax number will be provided in order for you to return your Feedback Form to CD Solutions.
Resource Center
The Web sites which are underlined contain Home Pages to view. The Web sites that are not underlined do not include Home Pages for viewing.
All Web sites covered in the Resource Center are included in the Internet-ready file that was installed on the user’s harddrive when originally initiating the CD-ROM. The Copy command present in several areas of the Resource Center enables the user to copy various software packages from the CD-ROM to the harddrive for further use. Forms are also available in various places to be completed or to keep track of things. For structured forms, you move from field to field using the tab key. Comment fields, which function like the Notepad, are completed by entering information as you would in a word processing file.
